A poor and awful match ended with all the points heading home to Stavanger, as Viking ran out 2-0 winners.
The first half was absolutely dreadful, with loads of poor passing and only one chance was created. This fell to Aalesunds Thor Hogne Aarøy, who headed wide from 4 yards out.
The second half was slightly better. Hannes Sigurdsson and Jone Samuelsen had good opportunities to break the deadlock, but could not get their shots on target. Joakim Austnes had the biggest chance, when he found himself with only the goalie to beat. However, his shot was straight on the goalkeeper and Autsbø had no problems saving.
Then on 81 minutes, when it looked like the worst game ever would finish 0-0, Vikings Ragnvald Soma connected beautifully with the ball from 25 yards and volleyed it into the top far corner. Aalesund pushed everybody forward to find an equaliser and around a minute after the goal, Andre Danielsen stole the ball and hit Aalesund on the counter-attack. After running over half the field, he found Razak Pimpong on his own on the left and the Ghanaian international coolly slotted the ball in the far corner.
Uwe Rosler was happy with the result, but not with the match saying: “I’m happy with the three points, but not the performance. We did win though, so I cant be too negative. Many would say that we have lost games that we have dominated, so it’s about time we have a bit of luck on our side.”
