Peter Ijeh official for sale !

This morning Viking FK had an unscheduled press conference to tell that Peter Ijeh, the clubs top scorer in 2006-2007, will not join rest of the team to Brazil this morning.

After over a month of rumours that Peter Ijeh was on the move from Stavanger, Viking FK has this morning officially confirmed the possibility of selling him to another club. Even as late as yesterday evening the clubs sport director Egil Østenstad made a statement for the press that Peter Ijeh and Hannes Sigurdsson was not for sale, - and was expected to join Viking both for the training camp in Brazil and for the season.

Last week Norwegian Prem.League team Lyn had a bid for Peter Ijeh at 7.000.000 NOK (about 850.000 euro), and also Norwegian Prem.League Tromsø IL have given bids (unknown amount) for Hannes Sigurdsson. Both bids were quickly refused.

The new development for Peter Ijeh is that last night there came a bid, probably from a non-Norwegian team, which was big enough for Viking FK to be considered as interesting. The next days will show if the clubs can come to an agreement. Viking FK can tell the press today that they have gotten several bids for Peter Ijeh from both Norwegian and Foreign teams, - but had not untill last evening gotten any realistic high enough price, - so until now there had been no basis for any transfer discussion with any clubs.

The long lasting rumours about Peter Ijehs exit has been fuelled by his unhappiness in Stavanger the last year, on a personal level. His wife and family are currently living in Africa, and have refused to return to Stavanger. The last month's rumours and Peter Ijehs statements have led to a situation where Peter Ijeh has put himself steadily more on a confrontation path towards the rest of the players and the club, witch so far have tried to convince Peter Ijeh to stay in the club, even by wanting to improve his contact.

In his 1,5 season for Viking FK Peter Ijeh have scored 29 goals in 38 League matches, and adding 5 goals more in total 5 cup matches.

Peter Ijeh has contract till the end on year/season 2009, and are expected to be valued over 10 million NOK, - probably between 12-18 mill. ( 1,2 - 2 mill euro )
